Thank you!!!

Picnik collage

I recently put together a few cake truffle platters for the R Roberts Gallery in Avondale, as they were hosting a holiday party and artist opening. I was lucky enough to receive this very kind email from someone that was in attendance!

Christie,

I was at an art opening at the R Roberts Gallery last week and had a taste of your cake truffles. I just wanted to let you know that I was so impressed, not only with the flavor, but with the artistry and presentation. It was my first encounter with a cake truffle, and it was delicious! Thank you!

A very happy Gator Birthday!

I made my friend Kristen her very own Gator Birthday cake... her favorite logo from the Florida Gators is the "F" so I made it out of chocolate and put it on top! The inside was a red velvet and vanilla checkerboard cake. She absolutely loved it!

Baby Shower!

Yesterday my mom and I hosted my sister in-law's baby shower at our house, and I provided the dessert buffet! We had vanilla and chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting, peanut butter cake truffles, espresso cake truffles, strawberry cake truffles, and a chocolate fountain with all kinds of delicious dippers. Since Baby Noah's room is going to be jungle themed, we did the same theme for the shower. The animal picks in the cupcakes are actually confetti that we bought and stuck on top of toothpicks.

Busy busy busy!

After spending a wonderful exciting 3 weeks in Europe in August, I came home to plenty of great orders to fulfull!

First off, I made my brother's wedding cake. I only had a day's notice to make it, but it turned out fantastic! It was a yellow butter cake filled with strawberries and frosted with vanilla buttercream.

I made this strawberry cake with vanilla whipped frosting along with the order of white and milk chocolate red velvet truffles for a gal at work.

I am back in the swing of things and it feels great!

"Darling, I'm simply crazy about Tiffany's!"

Just wanted to share some adorable cupcakes I made this week. Tiffany and Co. cupcakes!

Inspired by that famous "little blue box", these would be simply perfect for a wedding shower or dessert reception. If you're wondering what flavors these are, they are golden butter cupcakes with a homemade vanilla Swiss meringue frosting. Delicious!

Pink and Brown Polka Dot Baby Shower Cake

This cute cake was for a baby shower, obviously for a sweet little girl. The bottom tier is a Davil's Food Chocolate cake filled with chocolate bavarian creme and frosted with chocolate buttercream icing. The top two tiers are strawberry cake with a strawberry glaze filling and frosted with vanilla buttercream icing. The fondant it's all topped with is homemade marshmallow fondant. The marshmallow fondant is not your regular tasteless, thick fondant. It tastes just like sweet marshmallows!

With the pink and brown polka dots, and Gerber daisy topping, it's a perfect cake for this baby girl shower!

Cakes are indivudally priced based on what you need for your event.

Monogrammed Cake Truffles

I was testing a new cake truffle combination this weekend that happens to be my favorite type of cake... yellow butter cake dipped in chocolate. This turned out to be a delicious combination!

I was feeling a little fancy so I went ahead and tried out some piped monogramming on top. A great look if you're interested in placing an order for a formal event! If you'd like them monogrammed, please let me know!

Triple Layer Tres Leches Cake with Strawberries

This was a cake made for someone heading to a Mexican Themed potluck dinner. They asked her to bring dessert so she turned to me! Tres Leches cake is made with three different types of milk, mixed with a touch of vanilla and the cake layers are soaked in that mixture. The extra bit of syrup was added into the frosting to give it that much more flavor. It is then topped off with sliced strawberries with a sugar glaze.

I've had many people ask me if I do cakes, and the answer is yes! Just let me know what type of cake you're looking for and I'll be glad to discuss it with you!

Stay tuned for another post next week, I'm working on a cake for a baby shower!

Cupcakes!

These are some cupcakes I made for a bake sale at my work that is benefiting the United Way. Embellished with a sugar flower, these cupcakes would be perfect for a shower or night with your gal pals! Cupcakes are priced at $15.00 per dozen, which is only $1.25 per cupcake! Most local bakeries charge anywhere from $2.50-$4.00 per cupcake, so this is a great deal for you!

Any flavor combination is possible, just e-mail me at C.Ritchotte@gmail.com and I'd be more than happy to discuss any ideas you have for flavors for your next party.

Chocolate Strawberry Truffles

These cake truffles are strawberry dipped in chocolate, so it's just like biting into a chocolate covered strawberry! Yum!

Orange Dreamsicle Truffles

Think back hot summer days as a kid and the ice cream man pulls up with his ringing bells. You pick a frosty orange dreamsicle as your treat of the day. That orange, creamy, dreamy taste is exactly what these truffles taste like!

And I drizzled them with Orange and Blue, because they'd be perfect for a Gator tailgating party!

Relay for Life Red Velvet Cake Truffles

We hosted a Relay for Life bake sale at work recently, and I made a batch of Red Velvet Cake Truffles to contribute to the sale.

Well that wasn't enough. That was the first thing off the table. I could have made 2 more batches and they would have been gone just as quickly! Once people had a taste, that was it!

I drizzled these with purple tinted chocolate, because those are Relay for Life's colors.
